As I was driving to work this morning, the first winter weather hit Texas. I was thinking of how I really don't miss winters in Chicago, though. This will last a couple of days and we all move on. The downside is that Texas gets ice instead of snow and they don't have the sophisticated road-clearing army northern cities employ.
Things I don't miss about Chicago winters:
- Shoveling my driveway
- Head-numbing cold squeezing my temples like a vice-grip
- Shoveling my driveway
- Having to make sure there is at least half a tank in my car at all times to prevent ice in the gas tank
- Shoveling my driveway
- The dirty, salty snow that tracks everywhere and stains everything
- Getting stuck behind a snow plow on the Eisenhower
- Did I mention shoveling my driveway?

Re: Review: Texans on Ice
Being from Chicago I understand your hatred of the bitter cold winters and the crappy driving conditions.
It is currently -6 degrees outside right now and your comment about the ½ a tank of gas reminded me I really need to stop and get gas. The only problem its -6 out and I will have to get out to pump the gas!
The one thing you can look at as a positive is that you do live in Texas and can say, “Get a dog little longies, get a dog!" "back in Texas, we call ice cream frozen cow juice.†And "I’m from TTTEEEXXXASSS!"
LUCKEEE!
